STAYING SAFE IN THE SUN ♡
Hi guys!!
The past few days here in Manchester (and probably the rest of the UK) it has been so beautiful. The sun has been shining and temperatures have reached 25ºc. From being very young my parents have always made sure i am protected from the sun. My dad grew up living in South Africa so he is very aware of the damage the sun can do. I think it has been drummed into me from all the years of being caked in sun cream that, being safe in the sun is important. A lot of people think they are to cool for suncream but you really aren't. Just because you are, lets say 16 doesn't mean that you won't get burnt. It also doesn't mean nothing will ever happen to you. One day in the future your past could catch up on you. So no matter what age you are stay safe!!
My key tips for staying safe include:
- Always wear suncream. You may not think you need it but you do. The sun is very dangerous so you must make sure you have a high UVB/UVA sun cream and, that the sun lotion has at least 20% SPF. Due to being very pale i apply sun lotion every four hours.
- Wear sunglasses. A lot of people don't believe that the sun can damage your eyes however it can. So invest in a nice pair of uv protected sunglasses.
- Sun hat. Make sure the top of your head is protected as well as the rest of your body.
- Aftersun. Just incase i have caught the sun in areas i forgot to apply suncream, i always make sure to use aftersun. It helps to sooth and cool the skin if it happens to be burnt.
- Water. When it's warm i will always carry around or at least make sure i have access to water. The sun makes you dehydrated so its important to keep your self hydrated when out in the sun. I usually carry bottled water in a small bag as its the easiest thing to use on the go.
These are just the things i do and what i was taught to do. There are probably lots of other things people do to keep sun safe but these things always work for me.
I hope you enjoyed this blog. I know it isn't beauty related but, i just felt like sharing with you my top tips. I hope you take some of them on board and keep safe!
Talk to you on Wednesday !
